I am feeling the need to go fishing in NC.

It's been a month since I was hiking through some of the last virgin forest in Western N.C. hunting for these beautiful Speckled Trout. The fishing was great and I can't wait to get back up there real soon.

If your interested in more details from this trip DM (direct message) me on Twitter @dalden.

Hunting4Specs

My good friend Darron Collins invited me along to hunt for native speckled trout in Western North Carolina. It was an epic trip with great weather and lots of fish. I am already looking forward to another rhododendron bush-waking, phantom bear trip real soon.

Wading up the Straight Fork river

I recently went on a trip to Western North Carolina up the Straight Fork river deep in the heart of the Smokies. We hiked for an hour bush-wacking just to get to the river. We fished all day hiking/wading over 20 miles. My Simms wading boots are bulletproof. I won't wear any other brand

An epic day fishing for specs in WNC

This is what every fly fisherman lives for, a beautiful pool of native brook trout far away from civilization. We must have fished 10 miles up the Straight Fork river in Western North Carolina. Lots of fish and zero people. A day to remember.

Hunting for Brookies in the Smokies

I just came back from an epic trip into the back country of Western North Carolina. We fished near the top of the Straight Fork river. The fishing was incredible and the scenery was great too. Here's one of many photos to come.

Striper fishing with Dad on his 71st B-day

Had a wonderful time (again) with Henry Cowen on Lake Lanier this past weekend. Didn't catch any Srtipers, but did catch a few Kentucky Spotted bass. There's nothing better than a day on the water with your dad!

Fishing on the Tuck - Delayed Harvest

Went fly fishing on the Tuckasegee River the end of April. Caught a few nice rainbow's on a wooly-bugger: white and green. I also caught a picture of some drift boats as they passed me by. A great day of fishing. Check out my tags inside the image below to find out more about my trip.

Taimen Time (Hucho taimen)

OK guys, it's time to take a trip to fish some of the biggest fish and in some of the most remote country in the world. If you want to catch some Taimen in Mongolia, I have just the trip for you. It is sponsored by WWF and proceeds go to the Amur River Conservation. My good friend and fishing buddy, Dr. Darron Collins has gone many times and wants me to go this year. Let me know if your interested and I will set it up. Take a look at the fish below, Darron says they get even bigger than this.
